» THE ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS2 WOW! BOOK
I bought version 8 of this book which was about the time I started learning Adobe Illustrator in earnest. Several versions later, I'm now actually in the book with a mini-feature and all. Of course, I'd buy this book even if I weren't in it! It's that good! |

» GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO-BUILDER : ADOBE PHOTOSHOP AND ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR PROJECTS
The online school I teach at - Sessions.edu recently published its first book. Within its pages are projects for those familiar and just starting out with Photoshop and Illustrator. My handsome mug appears in Chapter 3 with a concise introduction to Illustrator as well as a related project. What's great about this book is that you can log onto a Sessions site and get feedback from a number of instructors at the school... including me! |

» LOGO FONT & LETTERING BIBLE: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO THE DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND USAGE OF ALPHABETS AND SYMBOLS
If you're familiar with Illustrator and want to get more experience with logo and lettering design, this is an excellent resource. The contents are informative with a touch of humor and full of colorful examples. Great insight into some visually puzzling techniques! |

» CARTOONING THE HEAD & FIGURE:
This book by Jack Hamm (no relation) helped me create some really crazy characters and facial expressions in Illustrator. In it, you'll see a variety of ways to draw heads, noses, ears, eyes, and bodies plus more. |

» ILLUSTRATOR MASTERS: THE ARTISTIC CREATIONS...:
Full-color spreads throughout highlight the work of 20 top digital illustrators. Not the book to turn to for reference, but it is THE book to turn to for inspiration. Work featured within spans the product release timeline of Illustrator. |

» REAL WORLD ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR 10:
This massive tome covers every angle of Adobe Illustrator in detail. Hardly anything is left out and I still rely on it as a high-quality reference. It exists in the same realm as the Illustrator CS Bible and, to me, it's a toss-up as to which one I'd recommend. |

» ADOBE MASTER CLASS: ILLUSTRATOR ILLUMINATED:
I'm a sucker for vector art work. I'm a bigger sucker for vector artwork I can hold in my hands in full-color! This book provides full-color, often step-by-step examples of techniques that industry leading illustrators use to give their work that certain style. A great "turn to" book when your brain is stuck in "I can't create" mode. |
» ILLUSTRATOR CS BIBLE:
Like Real World Adobe Illustrator, this book is also of the "Everything but the kitchen sink" variety. Excruciating - but helpful - rundowns of every feature, tool and command is within these pages. |
» BERT MONROY: PHOTOREALISTIC TECHNIQUES W/PHOTOSHOP & ILLUSTRATOR:
Known mainly for creating works of photorealism in Photoshop, Monroy lets us all in on how he uses that program and Illustrator to create some really astounding pieces. It's freaky how he can start with a simple shape or two and turn it into something that makes or breaks an illustration. |

» ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS 2 CLASSROOM IN A BOOK:
Looking for inside insight into Illustrator (Ooo, nice alliteration!) from the folks who created it? Then this is the book to get. I can assure you it's a better read than the manual that Illustrator ships with. |
» ILLUSTRATOR CS MOST WANTED: TECHNIQUES AND EFFECTS:
I know this book inside and out because I served as the technical editor on it. Quite a task to check everything for accuracy but well worth it. The book features a number of step-by-step tutorials utilizing all the new CS features. |
