» THE ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS2 WOW! BOOK
I bought version 8 of this book which was about the time I started learning Adobe Illustrator in earnest. Several versions later, I'm now actually in the book with a mini-feature and all. Of course, I'd buy this book even if I weren't in it! It's that good!
» GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO-BUILDER : ADOBE PHOTOSHOP AND ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR PROJECTS
The online school I teach at - Sessions.edu recently published its first book. Within its pages are projects for those familiar and just starting out with Photoshop and Illustrator. My handsome mug appears in Chapter 3 with a concise introduction to Illustrator as well as a related project. What's great about this book is that you can log onto a Sessions site and get feedback from a number of instructors at the school... including me!
» LOGO FONT & LETTERING BIBLE: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO THE DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND USAGE OF ALPHABETS AND SYMBOLS
If you're familiar with Illustrator and want to get more experience with logo and lettering design, this is an excellent resource. The contents are informative with a touch of humor and full of colorful examples. Great insight into some visually puzzling techniques!
» ILLUSTRATORWORLD:
This Adobe Illustrator resource is the brainchild of Todd Macadangdang! Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him to aid in the creation of the site are a handful of top illustrators, book authors, and members of Adobe Illustrator's software development team. » NATIONAL PARK SERVICE MAPS:
Like maps? Like the outdoors? Check out a huge number of maps from the U.S. National Park Service all available in Illustrator or PDF format. Too cool! I found a reference to this link on Steve Kurth's Illustrator Answers web site so be sure to pay him a visit!.
» CARTOONING THE HEAD & FIGURE:
This book by Jack Hamm (no relation) helped me create some really crazy characters and facial expressions in Illustrator. In it, you'll see a variety of ways to draw heads, noses, ears, eyes, and bodies plus more.
» ILLUSTRATOR ANSWERS:
Home of a talented illustrator and a prolific writer, Steve Kurth's site features an abundance of Adobe Illustrator goodness. Packed in the pages are tips, artwork and downloads to get your creative juices flowing. He's recently completed Real World Adobe Illustrator CS to be published soon by Peachpit Press. The Real World series of books is what I always have on hand when even I get stuck!
» ILLUSTRATOR CS MOST WANTED: TECHNIQUES AND EFFECTS:
I know this book inside and out because I served as the technical editor on it. Quite a task to check everything for accuracy but well worth it. The book features a number of step-by-step tutorials utilizing all the new CS features.
» ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS 2 CLASSROOM IN A BOOK:
Looking for inside insight into Illustrator (Ooo, nice alliteration!) from the folks who created it? Then this is the book to get. I can assure you it's a better read than the manual that Illustrator ships with.
» HANDWRITTEN: EXPRESSIVE LETTERING IN THE DIGITAL AGE:
Want to add something different to your designs or illustrations? Get a hold of this book by veteran design writing guru Steven Heller (along with Mirko Ilic) and see some great examples of custom type created by hand and imagination.
